My first enamel painting in thirteen years! At last, Bluette comes to life in a whole new way, and what better way to celebrate her rebirth than in her birthday suit! What's really funky is that the sleeve of the T-shirt forms the well, and glittery fabric was stuffed inside for the steam effect. Bluette, in two different styles, was a real attention-getter at the 2007 juried art show, especially here in Maine where naked women in libraries are usually frowned upon.
Update: Enamel Bluette was scheduled to make another appearance in the same library for the month of March, 2011, but was rejected. Throughout her previous showing, many onlookers filled out comment cards praising her artistic style, but one just one negative feedback was all it took to damper Bluette's publicity. She is not allowed to be shown at that location again.
Here's Akroma solo and in the spotlight, without all the added random bits used to make the Magic: the Gathering poster. She was what started the trend in the first place. Looks more appropriate for card art, too.
Some people can, but I'm not very good at it. This is a collage of images inspired by the gang at my local game shop. My wife loves Ixidor, so it was only natural that I draw him. Even more natural was my fondness for the sexy Akroma. The orochis, who really add nothing to the saga of the reality sculptor and his female creation, were borrowed from custom-made token cards and tossed in as angel fodder.
Indingo just wants to play a simple game of rainbow elixir collecting, but thanks to his slacker fairy friend, who keeps showing up late, the challenge lies in preparing each stage to Indingo's liking WHILE he plays them! Get ready for head-to-head action for one player!
The unofficial sequel to Want Some Candy? Unofficial because these sexy ladies aren't even my characters; they belong to Amy K. Cyrway and Jen De Salme's Apocrypha universe. Derived from a bloodline of lilin, these girls can transform into were-creatures. Reese was uncreative and dressed as a black cat or did she? Nata is Jesus Christ no, a scarecrow. And Wulfie is Emilie Autumn, apparently. What's a Halloween party without Baka brand corn chips and Domo toilet paper?
My calendar girls have sent greetings for Halloween and Christmas, so now they present the much too overlooked day of Thanksgiving. A wholesome day for the family, it is a time of reflection to when our ancestors made new friends before driving them out of the country, eating lots and lots of food because that's the American way, and resting up for the true holiday being Black Friday. Even my girls need to come together for this special day. Would you like a breast or a thigh? How about a glazed apple?
Brooklin is the daughter of a friend of mine. She seems to be having a blast waving that flower. This painting was a great exercise in capturing movement, especially with enamel, a medium that's not at all flexible or forgiving. Yes, I can do cute, too.
