A landscape on fire

Burnin' Up the Mainstream

My first attempt at an oil painting in thirteen years. Inspired by the "Best Maine Landscape Award" of hometown art shows, or possibly just overwhelmed by them all, I took a shot at one, Vigistry-style. This could be anywhere in Maine— somewhere dry.

Starscream battles Optimus Prime and Megatron in a scene from Transformers Warworld

Alternate This!

Warworld Starscream is a combination of three things: the whiny air fleet commander, the Autobot Matrix, and a big warship— not exactly Twix material. Very rarely do I draw canon Transformers, but when I do, I tend to use creative license. I saw this guy depicted in old comic books, but those were so 80's cheese. Then other fan artists started drawing him, putting tentacles on his head and making him look like a scallion. Starscream needed an upgrade, something that would strike fear in his foes and make him wish he never ate that Matrix.

Warrioress Bluette, centaur Celest, and fairy Centura

Ladies of Fantasy

I have a little local gig of creating custom Magic: The Gathering tokens. My three gals volunteered for the first batch as a warrioress, centaur, and fairy, but it's kind of sad that they will end up as 1/1 fodder. The downtown game shop, Spellbound, now has this poster on its wall.

Egyptian werewolf mummies confronted by a chemist outside the Bank of England

A-oooo

A request by Magic: The Gathering artist, Anthony Waters. The idea was a flexible one with some basic criteria: 1930s Britain, Egyptian werewolves, and at least one wolf and one human. I wanted to keep the werewolves from looking too Scooby Doo pharaoh, so I created a pair of rotting mummy-dogs. In this scene, we have a chemist of sorts, apparently confronting these menaces with a magical formula. Is he trying to stop them from robbing the Bank of England? Nah, he just wants to turn them into chicks with D-cups.

Bluette dressed in a seahorse gown

Miss Interpretation

Bluette has interesting taste in fashion, pets, and flowers. Flowers made of tongues have interesting taste as well! Like many of my pictures, this is pretty much a draw-your-own-conclusion piece. An award winner at a 2007 juried art show, it was sold the night of the opening.

Vig's Community Dragon World

Vig's Community Dragon World

Create your own dragon and set it loose in my fantasy world. Give your dragon a name and some words of wisdom. Your dragon will grow over time and mingle with other dragons. Summon your dragon, fly it, and shoot at other dragons with fiery breath. VCDW can hold an unlimited number of dragons; review them all by browsing through the roster.
