Act 5
There's a convention for everything, even the old Disney's Gargoyles cartoon series, which is called the annual Gathering of the Gargoyles. Well, since I puttered around in the fandom for a bit, I contributed to the 2001 calendar project with this picture that features its mascot, Holly, based on Marilyn Monroe. (The Gathering 2001 took place in Los Angeles, thus the theme.) Designing Holly's outfit to look like a film slate was most enjoyable.
Eden & McHopps
Back in the day, I used to draw birthday gifts for everyone on my IM buddy lists. Part of the birthday series was this off-the-wall portrait of Cindy Kinnard, a.k.a. Eden, in a traditional fantasy setting. Another friend of mine went by the screen name McHopps— a very decent guy who understood the whole frog/hops thing, so that's how the age-old story of a maiden and her frog prince came into play.
I-Luna
From the birthday series, an I-bot for Jennifer Winder, a.k.a. Celano. Luna is a teenybopper Decepticon motor scooter who's full of surprises. You can tell she's the morbidly fun-loving type by the way she plays Hackey Sack with Waspinator's head!
I-Bluestreak
Bluestreak proves that robots do look snazzy in human outfits— like that shiny jacket she's wearing. She's getting funky in discotheque fashion but symbolically doing so at a gloomy old factory site. Is this a protest against the evils of pollution, or is the rebellious contradiction of elements just plain sexy? You got it!
A Pretty Elf
A D&D character design request by Allison Cassel. I think this sassy redhead is pretty, but judging by that smirk on her face and that outfit she's wearing, she can be a lot of other things, too!
Kyra & Sera
Another D&D request— this one by Christine Morgan. These two elfin femmes are Kyra, the gorgeous night club singer, and Sera, her conservative sister. Hence, her outfit isn't as fun. Let's roll high for keeping the club goers entertained.
Maigh
From the birthday series, gift art for manga fan artist, Mette Krangnes, who is a big Slayers fan. This is her character, Maigh, done in Slayers anime style. I eventually watched the series and found it rather entertaining, which I don't say often about anime.
I-Balefire
The I-bot look was mainly intended for the ladies, but here's an exception— the fruity flamer Balefire! For a chap with no legs, his design was rather complex: over 30 Photoshop layers were used to build him. You go, girl! Character design by bish fanatic, Jen De Salme.
I-Pantera
She's black and she's gray, but she bursts with vibrancy when twirling those energy batons. Her thighs alone are enough of a knockout! Character design by Amy K. Cyrway.
Turning Japanese
This is how my girls and I turn Japanese. Note the significant breast reduction on Bluette, there. Comes with the territory, I guess. I should have added more panties.
Flor
From the birthday series, a gift for fluff artist, Diana Jiron, a.k.a. Pootoo, of her character, Flor the fairy. As you can see, she enjoys a good head dunk just like the rest of us. Stop making fun of my flower!
Artist
Half dragon and half mantis, Artist is as strange as they come. But despite her unearthly appearance, she's the laid-back type who enjoys frolicking in the treetops. I would have liked to dream this up, but she's a character design of Melissa McLaren, a.k.a. Darkheart.
Silversilk
Ariana Mirida is ready to answer the call to adventure. She means to clear her family name and restore her ancestral holdings. The fact that the Emerin is a kingdom without a king, torn apart by decades of war and now in the hands of a Council of scheming lords, does not deter her in the slightest.
Accompanied by Mischa Narrin. human priest of the goddess Talopea, Ariana undertakes a quest that is bound to make the Council notice her. She sets off to retrieve the Emerald of Karria. which is said to have the power to know a true king.
But Ariana is not the only one seeking the Emerald. And the dangers of the wild northern woods— crazed shaper mages and their monstrous creations, desolate ruins, and the guardians of Kama's Temple— are nothing compared to the peril she'll face from one renegade knight and his deadly Morvalan companion.
Weed
Weed is a mutated Venus fly-rat. This little guy may appear ominous and scary to some, but apparently it's not enough to convince that biomechanical caterpillar staring him in the yap.
ReLoad
Video game designer Skanker Zero has this freaky chick named Load, who, with her gray skin, pigtails, antennae, and morbid cheerleader outfit, inspired me so much, I just had to draw her. Skanker has a lot of freaky chicks, actually. They scare mine.
Hyperjen: Too Damn Early
HyperJen is from Jenactive.com, a web site that showcases bodacious comic book babes. As you know, most comic book babes take on a dynamic, big-busted appearance. Jen here is no exception. Several artist guys I know put together a little jam session, rendering her in the most alluring, explosive, and powerful poses they could think of. I, on the other hand, took a more natural approach to this bad girl. Thanks to Skanker Zero's marvelous coloring work, this became one of my favorites! Thanks to Jenactive, too, for the humorously appropriate title. All of our entries were big hits!
Damn Fool Halloween
The Monthly Artist's X-change is a nifty program in which bored artists come together on a monthly basis, pick names of fellow participants, and draw their characters. I tried this for a few months until it became— well— boring. This assignment was far from that, however. Chat buddy Anthony Klein was my October recipient, so this is a picture of his character, Kiana, trick-or-treating. Klein's favorite Transformer was Kup, so that seemed like the perfect costume for his equally cranky gal. You'd be cranky too if you got nothing but apples and pennies!
I-Samiel
Samiel is more of a ruthless dictator than the sex-kitten type. She has her way with everyone else, so I took pleasure in having my way with her! Despite this twisted and compromising scenario, however, Samiel's creator, Mary Pletsch, a.k.a. Stormrave, still called it cute! All those My Little Ponies she collects have warped her mind, I swear.
Babe Christmas
A mammoth tree, miles of garland, lights and presents galore! The girls went all-out getting their place decked out for the holiday season and dressed elegantly to boot. Hey, Bluette's got a bow on her. Maybe she plans on being unwrapped later.
Belial
Did you know that all the mega-evil overlord wants after conquering the earth is to be waited on hand-and-foot and be fed grapes? Belial is a fallen angel from Amy K. Cyrway's Apocrypha universe who takes on the appearance of a little brat to deceive his victims. What's a good way to draw a forth-dimensional entity? One is to make him look holographic!
